Annual archive study day

Join in the centenary celebrations at the 12th Annual Archive Study Day on Saturday, March 6, between 10am and 4pm.
The event is at Staffordshire University and will look at how the federation of the six towns put
Stoke-on-Trent on road to becoming a fully fledged city.
Respected historians will give an insight into life for the residents of the city 100 years ago, with speakers including:

  • Andrew Dobraszczyc: ‘Attempted shotgun marriage: Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle
    1900-1940’
  • David Barker: ‘Beneath the Six Towns – an archaeological perspective’
  • Fred Hughes: ‘Now, Where did I Leave my Wig and Gown?
  • Ray Johnson: ‘Progress and Pride 1910-1925’

Tickets cost £20 and will include lunch and refreshments. Too book your place call the Staffordshire record Office on 01782 278380 or go to www.staffordshire.gov.uk/leisure/archives.

I will be glad to go. It’s not a nice place to live... There’s no community left here any more.

I want to see the residents of this area having a voice and RENEW to take account of their views.
