Residents Peter Whittingham and Brian Wilkinson outside their homes in Birches Head, which were among 38 properties in Chell Street, Barthomley Road and Cromwell Street which benefitted from a scheme to renovate roofs, windows, doors and boundary walls. The rear alleyway between their streets was also re-laid with original cobblestones in February 2006.
