Residents handed over a 550-signature petition to city councillor Michael Coleman calling for the demolition of the Blythe Spirit pub on Weston Road, Weston Coyney, in June 2009. The building has been derelict for four years and had become a magnet for anti-social behaviour. Campaigners are hoping the city council and RENEW North Staffordshire will use their statutory powers to compulsary purchase the site and clean it up.
