Chatterley Whitfield (09)

Jim Morgan, former Chatterley Whitfield worker, 2009

The first machines rolled into action in March 2009 to transform a historic Stoke-on-Trent site into a vibrant new country park. Dignitaries, workers, residents and school children gathered at Chatterley Whitfield on March 6 to mark the start of the transformations. The former colliery is to be turned into a Heritage Country Park with a viewing platform, nature gardens, walkway and meandering river. The transformations are all part of the North Staffordshire Regeneration Partnership's (NSRP) multi-million pound vision for the region. Pictured on Fegg Hayes Road is former Chatterley site worker Jim Morgan with the colliery site in the background.

It looks absolutely brilliant, as good as a new house! It makes me feel proud to live here.

I want to see the residents of this area having a voice and RENEW to take account of their views.
