The derelict former Elephant and Castle pub in Fegg Hayes (March 06)

The derelict former Elephant and Castle pub in Fegg Hayes. Local residents campaigned for the building, which closed in 2000, to be demolished as it was an eyesore which had become a magnet for anti-social behaviour. The building was knocked down in 2007 and Staffordshire Housing Association plans to build nine homes on the site. Pictured, left to right, are Malcolm Fern, Ted Jennings, city councillor Peter Kent-Baguley and Doreen Jennings.

It looks absolutely brilliant, as good as a new house! It makes me feel proud to live here.

I want to see the residents of this area having a voice and RENEW to take account of their views.
