The Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, councillor Maurice Lewis, is pictured with residents and RENEW North Staffordshire staff on the completion of the first renovation scheme in Birches Head in January 2006. Thirty eight homes in Chell Street, Barthomley Road and Cromwell Street benefited from renovation, including new roofs, windows, doors and boundary walls. The rear alleyway between the streets was also re-laid with original cobblestones.
