In March 2009 RENEW North Staffordshire applied for £100,000 to help make properties on the Galleys Bank estate in Kidsgrove mortgageable. If the money is secured, one of the spending options being looked at is using one properties constructed in the 'Schindler-style' as a test house to investigate the most cost-effective way of making repairs to properties across the estate. Inspections were made of 42 privately rented houses on the estate and a steering group set up to ensure residents' involvement in regeneration work. Pictured is Marian Fuller who has a defective property and was hoping the funding bid succeeds.
