Caldon Canal, Hanley

Narrowboat on the Caldon Canal in Hanley Park
Region: Hanley

A leisure barge on the Caldon Canal as it passes through Hanley Park. The canal open in 1779 and runs for 18 miles from Etruria, where it leaves the Trent and Mersey Canal at the summit level, to Froghall. The canal has 17 locks and the 69 metre long Froghall Tunnel.

It looks absolutely brilliant, as good as a new house! It makes me feel proud to live here.
