Hanley alleyways (Mar 07)

An alleyway in Hanley where security gates were to be erected
Region: Hanley

In March 2007 RENEW released £900,000 to improve security at homes in areas with high crime rates. Pictured in an alleyway behind Franklyn Street and Hazelhurst Street, Hanley, where security gates will be erected, are Jerry Sothers (Police architect liason officer), Phil Brundrett from RENEW, elected mayor of Stoke-on-Trent Mark Meredith and Phil Dawson from Stoke-on-Trent City Council.

I want to see the residents of this area having a voice and RENEW to take account of their views.

I will be glad to go. It’s not a nice place to live... There’s no community left here any more.
