The brick facades of 45 homes in the Knutton and Cross Heath area were earmarked for restoration in August 2007 as part of a £1 million scheme to revitalise the area. Tunstall-born brickmaker John Nash Peake created the decorative features on houses in the John Street and Cemetery Road area of Knutton in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
