Demolition of the Kings Arms public house in Meir began in November 2008. A pub has stood on this site from at least the early 19th century. This building was rebuilt in 1935 by Horace Pool to the design of John S. Redman. RENEW North Staffordshire is regenerating the area to provide improved housing.
