£9m factory revamp

Artist's impression of a new training centre for the former Enson Works

An artist's impression of a new training centre to be created on the site of the derelict Grade-II listed former Enson Works, in Longton. The £9m project will enable around 400 teenagers, aged 14 to 19, to be trained in construction skills every year. Part of the factory, believed to date back to 1882, as well as four bottle kilns will be retained. It is hoped the centre will open in September 2011.

I want to see the residents of this area having a voice and RENEW to take account of their views.

It looks absolutely brilliant, as good as a new house! It makes me feel proud to live here.
